Of the products that UltraVision has in the field only six have been returned for repair or upgrade but currently all are still in the field. The costs associated with returning a product is Federal Express one day in and one day back on eleven pounds or approximately $300. The product is shipped to a customer with a warranty on parts and workmanship that occurs a liability in repair during the warranty.
There are several levels of shipping warranty: from an overnight replacement, to a “ship the system back on the customers account” and repair and replace within 3 days. The cost of the overnight replacement is less than $300 and is usual. From units in the field we expect to have less than 50 % have one failure in the first year and then after one failure
in 4 years. We will promote an upgrade program for hardware updates.
The user can upgrade the software and firmware from the company’s commercial website.
